I'm so glad you included the photos to go along with that lovely tribute - she indeed looked like a grand girl. I'm sorry for your loss. The two of you both won when you found each other.

I'm so sorry for your loss. What a great story, and great life she had with you. She was a lucky dog to have someone who loved her as much as you do.

    bill,
i regret to hear of maggie's passing. as others have said she lives in your memories. what i think is likely as meaningful is that to this day, each time your old hunting partners see that cripple go down across the big current in that knarley mess, they talk about maggie. people never forget their encounters with greatness. i bet a couple of those guys now have their own nice dogs because once they saw maggie do it......they knew it was possible. her legacy is certain through the inspiration she gave new dogs and new owners and trainers by doing something no one previously thought possible!

So sorry for your loss of Maggie. Sounds like the two of you shared a grand lifetime of adventures. She was a pretty girl, too. Wonder why it is the 'bad' ones are always our favorites?

    Bill,

I too lost my big man of 10 years 10/26/12 to cancer. Sorry for your loss it is crazy how hard you can fall for a DARN dog... She can never be replaced but there is another one out there waiting on you with a barrel of memorable stories of their own for ya.

Sounds like you and Maggie had a great run together Bill. Sorry to hear she passed. I'm reading the book "Panther" which has many short stories of hunting labs, sounds as though Maggie could have had her own chapter. Best wishes...
