We shoot dogs with a Canon
There is one instance of a dog (Toller named Halsey) that earned the JH, SH, and MH titles all in the same day. Took some coordination and planning but double staking is legit...if you chose to do so.
WRC HR Lennoxlove's Run with Wolves JH, WCX ("Cheyenne") ... still so fondly remembered
HRCh Struan's Devil's in De Tails SH, WCX ("Lucy")
SR CH Struan's Flight of Fancy JH ("Muse")
Struan's Master of the Hunt JH, WC ("Charlie")
Struan's Just Plain Perfect ("Jane")
Struan's Driving Us Crazy ("Daisy") ... the baby in charge
I'll bring him to the line collarless, but have a slight pinch hold on his neck just to use the rules in my favor.
I have no training group, all advanced training done alone, and thru about 70 days of hunting this season.
He is steady, and honors. He will stay where i put him, and no amount of coaxing from anyone will get him to move.
I've read the rules on Sr, and feel we can give it a go.
I am just unsure how it works with the walk up. Can we stop on the way to the line so trap can watch the first bird or do we have to keeping moving to the line, so it is a moving mark?
Lots of not knowing what to do's.
Watched alot of videos on YouTube, but still lots of unsure's.
You can whistle sit or voice command your dog once 1st bird is in the air on a walk-up. If he is that steady on line and you are confident of his ability to take cast on blinds, go for it. Most senior OVERALL fails are because of 2 poor blinds.

"Facts are meaningless. You could use facts to prove something is even remotely true." Homer Simpson
on the walk up have him sit on the "flush" of that first bird.
you may even give a toot on your whistle.

Unsure's include, when i send him for the blind, can i talk to him before i line and send him?
Another is, if he goes out a little ways and stops to look back at me, is that a fail, even though i tell him back again and he goes?
I am working on that unsureness popping. I still have almost a month.
Got laid off, so i am working with him several times a day.
We went out into sage brush yesterday, and i set frozen ducks out at 150 to 175 yards and 10 out 12 blinds he ran nice and straight without stopping and looking back. That 2 times is the problem. Those were on the first series of 3. The next 3 series were great. We will get thru this in the upcoming weeks. He also handles great.
See i am not 100 % sure.
I also don't know what and when i am supposed to do what?
After you've done a couple, the dog will almost sit soon as you stop...lol its not a big deal on the walk-up usually. Most of the time its a waste to even do it in either AKC or HRC.

All the above is good information, I have done this and one other thing to watch out for is make sure your running order does not set you as first up (or in the first few dogs) in both events, as sometimes they run at the same time or at least have some overlap. The judges will work with you as long as you let them know....Good Luck
