    Default Which training program?

Looking for a training program, book or DVD format fine I guess, for training golden retriever, on basic hunting retrieving, nothing fancy, as simple as possible for dog and very novice trainer. Read lots of old posts but lots of recommendations Im sure every situation is different, I am looking for no frill simple hunting retrieving for a green trainer. Thanks

What kind of hunting will you be doing?
"I love the rod and gun and where they take me."

"Do not judge a man until you have walked two moons in his moccasins."

Going off your description of what you want I would go with the fowl dawgs series

I am using smartwork. I have heard many people say it is very novice trainer friendly. As a novice trainer myself I have been very pleased with it. A huge plus, to me anyway, is that Evan is always willing to help answer questions you might have and is very easy to contact here or other forums.

I honestly don't think that it matters very much.

Pick one that you understand, follow it to the letter. Find a mentor that can get you through the rough spots. And LEARN how to read and train a dog.

It's not the methods that make the difference. It's achieving the objectives.
The only difference betweeen the programs, is the methods, and how well they communicate the philosophies and objectives.

The rest, is up to you. And the rest, is a whole freaking lot.

I am following Tom Dokken's Retriever Training: The Complete Guide to Developing Your Hunting Dog and have nothing but good reviews.
    Labrador Retriever, a 20g & grouse...is there a better combination?
