    Default Vet Help Please

My old pointer has developed two sores in the exact spot on both sides of his nose and my vet thinks it is a staph infection but has never seen anything like this. She put him on 500 mg of clavamox twice a day and Vetericyn as a topical. It has been a week and it is not getting any better and has seemed to get worse. If you look close you can see that it looks as though other sores are developing. I'm going to try to get him back in tomorrow.

Any thoughts work be greatly appreciated

From a google image search I found this info, might want to look into it:
    Histiocytoma

The forum won't let me link the the page, as it is my first post, but you should be able to find the same info on google.

I guess she did a culture when my wife took him in and it is staph. She reminded me of this last night. Just very hard to treat where it is located.

Still would welcome any thoughts form vets.

Again not a vet but been a vet tech in specialty practice for a long time. Please have them biopsy edges of lesion and have them send in to laboratory for histopathology diagnosis!
Sometimes cultures just aren't enough for full diagnosis. I know it's expensive to do this but it hasn't gotten any better with current treatment and its getting more bumps around it.
I admit I'm a worrier when it's comes to my dogs health, but I wanna know what the hell is going on with them!
    It is a weird lesion.
Talk to your vet to see what she says.
