I don't think that many of us would really like majority rule. The majority isn't overly bright, after all, by definition just under the majority is below average intelligence and then you only have to add in a few at and just above average to form a majority.

You can always scoot before the fence is complete.

    It's a two sided coin...

"All . . . will bear in mind this sacred principle, that though the will of the majority is in all cases to prevail, that will to be rightful must be reasonable; that the minority possess their equal rights, which equal law must protect and to violate would be oppression’s sacred principle, that though the will of the majority is in all cases to prevail, that will to be rightful must be reasonable; that the minority possess their equal rights, which equal law must protect and to violate would be oppression."

    -Thomas Jefferson

It isn't protection against the majority, political decisions are to be made by a free vote of the majority. It is protection against a tyrannical majority abridging basic "God Given" human rights of the minority.

Yup, more than half are "below average, and a significant fraction are flirting with that cutoff. Scary thought, I agree.

BLOOMBERG. THE INTERPETATION OF THE CONSTITUTION WILL HAVE TO CHANGE

Now why do you think he would say such a thing right after a bombing? Even after Crafts Opps were spotted right before the bombing with similar backpacks? were they just working security? dont think so.
Does the Gulf of Tonkin Incident or a few other US staged events come to mind?
With the fear created with the bombings the sheep(i mean people) will push to be safe by any means......

Curious that there are nsome on this thread bellyaching about restrictions on our rights and freedoms in some areas; yet many of these same folks wanted to deny the Boston Bomber his Miranda Rights

Don't know about bellyaches, but you have been causing me to ponder uses for Preperation H.

Doesn't surprise me that you would agree with Obama that this terrorist who, along with his brother, planted and detonated two bombs in a busy public location. Killing an innocent child and a couple of women, while seriously wounding dozens of others. Then, in cold blood killed a police officer before continuing their jihad against the Law enforcement officials who were chasing them. No telling how many others would have been killed if they had been able to plant their other bombs.

These were not garden variety criminals. Theses scumbags declared jihad on America and deserve no rights. A bullet between the eyes would have been too good for him. But Miranda? What a joke.

That kind of thinking is what has this country in the trouble it is in now.

The only thing Miranda means is that what he says can't be used against him. So what? They have him on video planting the bomb. They do not need a confession for conviction.
