    It's just impossible to prevent accidents like this all the time. I hope your wife is not beating herself up over it! it's hard to live life if you're always thinking about preventing accidents. We've all been there in one way or another.
    Hope you're family heals soon and you guys get another pup, like Carol said! I'll bet your girl had a great 3 years on this earth!

    Sorry you received such bad news. Hate to hear of any lose, but the young ones are always the hardest ones for me to accept.

    When we read your story, I was crossing my fingers it was treatable. Like one person said previously, when I read the final diagnosis, I cried, and through the pictures too. I am so very sorry for your loss, may she retrieve many, many pheasants in heaven! Bless you and your family.
