Well I sstunk it up about as bad as possible. That suicide pace killed anybody close to it.

I agree Orb has the breeding, connections, and jock to win it all. Joel is the hottest jock in the nation right now. Maybe its time, I hope so.

I picked Lines of Battle as a "LONG SHOT" bet.

I picked "ORB" as a favorite.

If you are not clear on the differences between a "FAVORITE" and a "LONG SHOT," perhaps you should refrain from wagering all together!

LOL look at my picks and I should definitely refrain from wagering. did you put any on Orb btw? For the first time in a long time I really think he has a shot at the Triple. I hope so. His connects have been pushing for reduced medication in horse racing. I admire them greatly.

    I did not bet.

Orb put up an amazing time considering conditions.
    That horse has a shot!

What was his time compared to previous times. I know the track was sloppy

Can't remember the final time, but the announcers said the early fractions were the 4th fastest in history which is pretty dang fast given how sloppy the track was. I was very glad to see the Janney and Phipps families and Shug get the win and very impressed with Orb.

Meanwhile over in my neighborhood the Gold Cup races had perfect weather but it didn't stop this carnage! Photo is from a maiden hurdle, not the big race but check out the fallen and riderless horses!~

The Taos Ski Valley Turf Accountant called it right! He said Rosario was "on Fire!" I didn't place a bet, didn't look like much profit in it. But the local bookie did come into my office Monday with some performance sheets and gave me his opinion.

Secretariat and Monarchos ran it in under two minutes and yesterday was over 2:02. HOwever, Serious handicappers don't pay much attention to final times. Think of it as a Nascar compared to a 4 wheel drive. If you set up a one mile race on cement the Nascar would destroy the 4 wheel drive but you put it in a river bottom the Nascar would spin its tires and the 4 wheel drive would dominate it but in a much slower time.

The track variant is huge in determining final times. I do think this is the best horse of the group and the track he runs on isn't that important. His prep races were at Gulfstream Park which was speed favoring but he still won yesterday was for closers he still won. I think he has a real shot to win all three.
