Default The old man and the young game warden

An old man was stopped at the landing parking lot by a young game-warden in Toledo Bend recently with two buckets full of fish as he was leaving.

The young game warden stopped him and asked the man, "Do you have a license to catch those fish?"

The old man replied to the game warden, "No, sir. These are my pet fish."

"Pet fish eh?!" the young warden replied.

"Yes, sir. Every night I take these here fish down to the lake and let them swim around for a while. Later in the day I come back and I whistle and they jump back into their buckets, and I take em home."

“That’s a bunch of crap sir”, says the young Game Warden, “I may be young, but do you think I’m stupid”?

The man looked at the game warden for a moment not wanting to say what he first thought, and then said, “How about I show how it’s done”.

The young Game Warden replied with, “You better hope so Mister” as he pulled out his ticket book.

The man walked over to the bank, poured the fish into the lake and stood and waited.

After several minutes, the young game warden turned to the man and said, "Well?!"

"Well, what?" the old man responded.

"When are you going to call them back?" the young game warden prompted, clearly frustrated.

"Call who back?" the old man asked.

    "The FISH!" he said,

"What fish?" the old man asked.

I laughed more at your post than I did of the OP....I knew a warden ( conservation officer, enforcement division) several years ago ...He was the biggest poacher in the area until they recruited him to the department...Who knows the offenders and the tactics better than the best one around..?Steve S

Actually had something like this happen once when I was a new warden. The guilty and the innocent are still around so I can't tell the story on here. The funny part (not so much at the time) was the violator stepping out of his truck and walking over to where I was hiding and darn near pissing on me!

Not true. I've seen them yucking it up a few times. It's not usually a good sign.
