We brought our pup home on Thursday. Things are going very well, a few accidents, not a ton of sleep but that is to be expected. I'll post some pictures up later this weekend.
I do have a question however - When the pup is retrieving a toy or bumper, some times he charges it hard and just grabs it and other times he walks up to it very slowly like he is stalking it and then he pounces on it, almost like a cat.
I am not concerned about it at all, he's only 8 weeks old after all. I was just curious if anyone had any insight.
I have a 6 y/o lab that will act like that also .... hard charge a retrieve or stare and pounce. All is normal and especially cute to watch in pups. Have fun!
Got a quick question for ya. How did you work out what puppy Rick picked out for you? Were you happy with his decision or were you involved in his decision?
I remember our first week with our pup, boy she was alot of work, but alot of fun also.
My pup did the exact same thing. It is so funny to watch. He seems to have grown out of it now as he is 6 months. I wouldn't be concerned at all, the pup is still unsure of everything. Once he build some confidence up he'll be fine. My dog now charges at dummies and toys with great drive.
I brought my family down to meet Rick and we discussed what we were looking for in a pup. We are very happy with our puppy and think he'll make a great addition.
