Register both, but if you have to only do one do AKC. UKC papers are easy to get further down the road, you can still run UKC events, points still count up to 60 days after the event and if you already have AKC papers it's a simple form. The reverse is not true, you cannot run AKC events with out AKC papers, while you can get AKC papers on a multi-generational UKC only papered dogs, it's more time consuming, you've got to prove an unbroken line from AKC dogs, and petition the AKC doable but not simple.

Thanks... my boy is already AKC registered. Like most mentioned, I'll probably just go ahead and register him with the UKC as well.

This discussion has a lot of generalizations. Some more true than others. This is definitely in the "not" category.

As far as generalizations go, UKC usually has better food.

Hey folks - remember they make chocolate, strawberry and vanilla ice cream for some. BUT what about Neopalitian for those that like all three. LOL

Exactly. I like ice cream. Qualified one for the MN a few weeks ago..running started with the two pups the last two weekends.

The food is the same, the dogs are the same, the people are the same, the fun is the same.
