Default IRS Targeting Conservative Groups... This is America in 2013?

So this is what it has come to? An administration who watches our men get killed on foreign soil and does nothing to help them is now using the IRS to harass political groups they consider enemies? And they openly admit it? And the country gives a collective yawn. Jesus.

King Obama thinks he can get away with anything he wants. If it is an obstacle to his agenda then he will do what he wants to make their life miserable. He and his administration think they are above the law. Next he will have webster change the meaning of transparency to: Impossible to see through and no need to be honest or forth right.

Nixon did have his enemies list, but so did Clinton. Now we have the IRS (a government agency under the Treasury Dept.) harassing those applying for nonprofit organization status or those organizations who already have nonprofit status which Obama has on his enemies list.

Wait a minute! The article I read this morning about this said that The O Administration was jumping down on the IRS for this blatant politically based attack. I guess we all read what we want to read, screw the intent of the author. I will try to copy and paste the link from the one I read. Give me a few minutes.

Ok, here is what I read:

Tea party groups targeted by IRS
The agency apologizes as the Obama administration and House Republicans call for an investigation.
By JONATHAN D. SALANT Bloomberg News
WASHINGTON — The Obama administration and House Republicans Friday called for investigation of the Internal Revenue Service for singling out some anti-tax tea party groups for extra scrutiny of their applications for nonprofit status. The flagging of such groups was “inappropriate action that we would want to see thoroughly investigated,” White House spokesman Jay Carney told reporters in Washington. “We certainly find the actions taken on this to be inappropriate.” House Majority Leader Eric Cantor said the House would investigate the IRS for targeting the groups. “The IRS cannot target or intimidate any individual or organization based on their political beliefs,” Cantor, R-Va., said in a statement. Earlier Friday, Lois Lerner, the IRS’s director of exempt organizations, said career employees singled out the groups for further examination based solely on their names, not their applications. “They didn’t do it correctly,” Lerner said at a conference of tax lawyers in Washington. “We would like to apologize for that.” By being categorized as nonprofit groups under Section 501(c)(4) of the tax code, organizations don’t have to disclose their donors even when engaging in political activity. Spending by groups that don’t identify their contributors has increased since the U.S. Supreme Court, in its 2010 Citizens United decision, removed limits on independent spending by corporations and labor unions. Nonprofit groups spent $1 billion in 2012 on campaigns, with more than two-thirds benefiting Republican candidates, according to the Center for Responsive Politics, a Washing-ton-based research group that tracks campaign spending. That was triple the $300 million they spent in 2008. House Oversight and Government Reform Chairman Darrell Issa of California, who already had sought an inspector general investigation into the IRS questionnaires, said today the committee will “aggressively follow up” on the report. “The fact that Americans were targeted by the IRS because of their political beliefs is unconscionable,” Issa and Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, chairman of the regulatory affairs subcommittee, said in a statement. Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky called on President Barack Obama to “conduct a transparent, government-wide review aimed at assuring the American people that these thuggish practices are not underway at the IRS or elsewhere in the administration against anyone, regardless of their political views.” A national anti-tax tea party group rejected Lerner’s apology.

Carol, guess you didn't see Carney try to lay it off on a Bush appointee? They hope the public is gullible enough to buy off on their first round of spin on most of these things. Looks like you did. It usually takes Obama and his crew at least three tries to get the story somewhat straight. (Sometimes 12 or more)

"No it wasn't me that did it, it was that other kid". I keep hearing this same echo the last few years.

I don't subscribe to the tea bagger philosophy. That being said, the focus on political groups because of their philosophy is not proper. Those responsible should be demoted and/or canned. The excuse that others did it just means that you are too unintelligent to learn from past mistakes.
