Question Call name too close to command?

Just wondering if call name "Owen" sounds too much like "over" and will cause confusion when working on that command. I realize I could use a different command for over but would prefer the standard word.

    What are your thoughts?

Good one! We are thinking the same.

I like the call name Owen with the registered name "The tax man cometh".

Beck's Cast Away (Wilson) is still my favorite! The person that thought of that is very clever! LOL!

you will be fine. once you are past swim by you hardly yell over, and if you do you are on the cusp of picking him up anyway. now if you were naming him "Eeeeeeeasy Left" I would see an issue

Owen will be fine. I like it.

Like Ken says, you don't use it very often in the field and when you do he might think you're saying his name kinda meanish and he'll be even more likely to obey.

You really gotta be careful about how high a pedestal you put your method, your accomplishments, your dog on. There's usually someone who's done more, somewhere. And they may have used a different method than you did! Chris Atkinson 2013

I don't use verbal overs anyway always silent to not push the dog back but just over. And as stated before once you thru swim by it won't really matter, just call him "O"
