Helen, mmm ... maybe I'm wrong. Maybe this has been part of the "deal" all along. Lois takes the fall, but gets out with her retirement intact? (and possibly some other bennies that will never be public?) She can always be given a cushy job in some group like OFA, etc. But maybe they didn't count on the low-level employees not being willing to fall on their swords while people like Lois, Miller and Schuler got a pass?

If you have a few minutes to watch this, it's well worth your time. Proud to have this man representing South Carolina. He seems to understand why we're so upset.

Gowdy was also the first one to immediately recognize that Lerner had waived her 5th Amendment rights with her statement prior to claiming the 5th. He is a former Federal prosecutor, so he knew what he was talking about. This YouTube video shows his objection, and his call for a special prosecutor & what options are available for prosecuting Lerner.

It seems that we do have some individuals with character and integrity in Congress ... if we could just get rid of the crooks and jerks, there might be a chance to have Congress get something positive done.

Gowdy also asked some direct questions in the Benghazi hearings.

In fact, he quotes from an email dated 9/12 (BEFORE Susan Rice appeared on the talk shows) which clearly shows that the State Dept knew that the attack on the facility WAS a terrorist attack. So, all the crap about the talking points is just that ... they knew exactly what they were dealing with and made a choice not to tell the truth. That also led to the Libyan govt delaying the access to the scene to the FBI.

All of the scandals are worth noting, but it all goes back to the character of those who will let people die & lie about it to further an agenda.

IRS wasn't the only agency spending millions on conferences ...
Sen. Tom Coburn says the Justice Department is sounding the alarm over sequester-related furloughs of its law enforcement agents in the coming year but spends millions on conferences, salaries and grants.
In a letter to Attorney General Eric H. Holder, the Senate’s top waste-watcher praises the agency for reprogramming $313 million to avoid agent furloughs this year. But he criticized the agency’s spending patterns, since agents might be furloughed next year if the sequester cuts are sustained.
“DOJ should not be threatening to furlough law enforcement agents while paying bonuses to recreation specialists for prisoners or sending bureaucrats on international junkets,” Mr. Coburn says in his letter.
He says Justice spent more than $58 million on conferences in fiscal 2012. In fiscal 2008, it spent $47.8 million, or more than three times the amount authorized by Congress, his letter says.
The Drug Enforcement Administration participated in a conference in Moscow last week, and Web data shows the agency planned to acquire 340 rooms for lodging and meeting space, Mr. Coburn’s letter says.
“While taxpayers expect government employees will sometimes need to spend tax dollars to meet in order to share information and gather knowledge on pressing and pertinent issues and to perform outreach in other countries, in these fiscal times, they do not expect or deserve their money to be used on the current jet-set culture at the department,” the letter says.

In fairness, in 2008 Holder would not have been responsible for the expenditures made ... but even more was spent in 2012, so he does get to take the rap for that.
