Thread: Kennel Fan

    Default Kennel Fan

Getting a new Rough Tough Intermediate kennel

Looking for recomondation on 12 volt fan as well as "space blanket" I have seen some "space blankets" hung from rear hatch door of Tahoes that look like they are perforated for air circulation while blocking sun and heat

gemplers.com sells a shade cloth called Aluminet with 40, 50 or 60% light blockage - various sizes starting at 7 x 10 ft - reasonably well priced too

What i use is a 12 volt converter with a 20 inch box fan throws alot more air. Lasted 2 days at a very hot hunt test.
I used one of my boat batterys deep cycle. can plug them in to the ciggeret light port but just feel safer with its own power sorce

Did you attach it to the kennel?

went with endless breeze for my large ruff tuff. blows like a champ and the dog loves it on those hot days. only down side is the mounting. the fan is larger than the door and the little hangers on top of the fan wont hang onto the door or kennel. i used a bungie strap from the handles on top of the kennels and hooked it onto the carrying handle of the fan. works fine. when traveling i stick the legs out and put them through the holes on the kennel door to keep the fan from bouncing all over the place. mines in the back of a 4 runner so the hatch ismright up against it when we trael so it doesnt slide around too.

id like to see other setups with ruff tuff kennels and endless breeze fans if anyones got them?

ive seen them in use and they are small (maybe 6 inches) but put out a lot of air. the endless breeze claims 900 cfm and the ruff tuff i think is like 850. in my case they were too expensive for uniform fit that they offer when i could get a higher power fan for a third of the price and rig it to fit
