    Although not my choice for waterfowling, I have a friend who uses one extensively... Very nice duck dog in mild to moderate conditions...

    I agree with the cold water comments, but have to say- a buddy of mine has a 2 yr old female GSP that has such high drive she doesn't seem to mind the water... She was hunted with a vest here in NY during our January season. Every dog is different, you could get one that handles colder temps just fine. Good luck and enjoy your Pup
