Why do you ask? Are you running them?
We already do. We run Retriever tests (both HRC and AKC) and AKC Spaniel tests. I was just curious as to how many Labs and Goldens plan to run them. I've seen several Flatcoats and Curly's running already and a few Airdales.
I believe the Retriever addition will be a positive influence on the Spaniel tests...especially in the quality of the water blinds at Master.

While I realize nothing is quite comparable to RTF, is there a somewhat comparable Spaniel forum that we can lurk on and learn?

When you get to Texas you will be half way there! Texas is a long commute in Texas.

I plan on running my dogs in these but won't be doing any until after Master National.

I have a friend who has Curlies and runs on of them and she said they were fun, but not many Spaniel tests in Texas. I'd like to try them.

I'm not sure how much information there is on it but I found this site which might be helpful.

    Hey, good to see you!
That's a good website, it has upcoming events on it. I see there are a few in WI coming up. Now if they don't conflict with an agility weekend....

Although I own Springers now, retrievers were my first love & I have long wished I could have run them in a meaningful upland test. There are things about the spaniel tests that I don't agree with but they are fast paced & fun, every dog encounters a slightly different challenge and for the pheasant hunter, the training will pay off in the fall.

It will be interesting for some of you to experience the difference in perspective regarding independence, nose & control.
"The bird hunter watches only the dog, and always knows where the dog is, whether or not visible at the moment. The dog’ nose is the bird hunters eye. Many hunters who carry a shotgun in season have never learned to watch the dog, or interpret his reaction to scent."
