    Default Lab coat color!!!

Does coat color effect them getting hot or over heated? Is a black lab gonna get hot quicker than a chocolate or yellow one?

Do you mean if they are in the sun, or just in general?

Not according to my "in house" lab test... FC Honor is black. Never seems to get "too warm" his brother HRCH Kirby, SH, QAA is fox red. He gets warm. If the sun is on him in the truck, he will start to scream, and I have to put an umbrella over him. He drinks a ton more water. and sheds out his undercoat like a banshee. I see no pattern. I have 4 reds/yellows, 3 blacks and 1 chocolate

Heads/ black tails/ yellow if it stands on the edge I guess you might have to go with a nice chocolate? Good luck whatever your decision.

No. Go with whatever color hair looks best on your floor or carpet.

Hard working dogs get hot no matter what their color is.
I wouldn't let this be the deciding factor for you.
I like Susan's answer. Our JRT's white hair mixed with the labs' black has us considering new flooring colors.

Get a yellow. They're the best looking.

Don't try to match the flooring... Look at your wife's side of the closet and match the clothing.

    Good luck,
