    Default Blinked a blind

Still new to the site and have enjoyed and learned a lot...thanks to all...have to share...Just finished up a double water mark with my boy Hagen and lined him up for his blind, diagnol entry, 40 yard swim, and 20 yards up the bank to the bumber by a tree. Send him, veers right, handle left, veers left takes a nice handle toward the bumper. Gets out and overruns the mark, stop him call him in and he stares at the mark and then decides to take a dump!! Finishes his business, walks back to the bumper stares at it then decides to return to me! Just before reentering the water I whistle hard and back!!!! he goes back and reluctantly and very slowly picks up the bumper and heads my way. Im talking to my helper and asked if there was an ant pile or something that would have detered the retrieve. She said nope put it where you said. Im shaking my head and puzzled as to why he did that. He comes to heel I say drop, take the bumper and a tennis ball falls out with it.....still cracking up!!!

So you have a Brown Golden Retriever, then?!

    (See /Paul's thread)

PS Hope you don't get in trouble for not putting GDG in your thread title...

so, why do you think this would need gdg Jen?
it is a retriever training happening. An occurence in the field. a double bring back that has happened to us all. it is not a joke. the title is not a lie. and the story is about the posters own dog, not a spoof.
again, why would this need gdg Jen?

hard to train you are, "click ckick" there, correction given!

I was hanging birds for the judges at a field trial in Stowe one day. Betsy's old place as we call it. Some say it's Sweezy's now. Working dog stopped halfway back and did what looked to some like it set it's bird down. But quickly came right in and gave handler the bird and an orange bumper that at least a dozen dogs had already run over. Bumper was marked R R and the gallery had a good chuckle over it.

Not sure why you see me as rude and a know-it-all. Sorry you feel that way, it is not my intent to come off that way. I feel I am light hearted and very aware of the fact that I don't know it all. I was perfectly fine with every thing you said about gdg requirements in my closed thread. It was Black Molassus, Mitty and Susan that had other things to say.

see jenn...just gotta get in the digs, don't ya? No reason except to be nasty, yet again- you poor innocent thing. Exactly why some of us are sick of the know it all noobs - especially ones who advertise they run field trials. Not sure I would be advertising that until I had some success, but you certainly know better than all of us.....
