    Default Favorite Wormer

What is your favorite brand/type of wormer for puppies then for adults?

What workers would you stay away from?

    Why?

Ever since I went to a monthly 1/10th cc of ivermectin per 20lbs I haven't had one issue in over 5 years. Not even a tape.

Even for young pups? As in 3-8 weeks before they go home?

This is the protocol I follow on all my litters: Nemex 2 (Pyrantel Pamoate) at 2,3,and 4 weeks. Panacur C/Safeguard (Fenbendazole) at 6 weeks. Then recommend new puppy owners to follow up with their vet within the first week. I also worm mom each time the pups are wormed.

I get my wormer from my vet, it's called CPP, its takes care of all worms, and it's GREAT STUFF, the cheap wormers were not working for my pups/litters, plus I get it for a GREAT price and keep it on hand!
For heartworm, my dogs are on Iverheart Max (takes care of tapeworms)!

Just a technicality but it should be "de" wormer. I use pyrantel pamoate successfully here w/ my pups/adults.

Is there a reason to worm pups every week, 2,3,4 weeks. I worm 2,4,and 6 and just wondering if I should be worming more often.

Just a suggested protocol from vet, has worked well so far.
