I believe we are seeing a major turning point in history. Keynesianism has failed, foreign intervention has failed, war has produced poverty and misery worldwide. The current model does not work, and our Empire does not work. This total failure has to change, and we need to present the alternative. Peace and prosperity. Ron Paul
Nice try Franco....but this article you referenced was based on the number of Government Employees, not taking into account the costs associated with these employees. Also as you know President Bush, had to deal with the attack on the World Trade Center on 9/11...of course he added headcount, in doing so he may have saved your rear. Bush I had a war to fight..etc... etc. None of this is considered in this goofy article... as for Obama numbers being lower, down 7%....it is because of the financial crisis he created (That's in the article, or did you miss it!) This article does not even talk about federal spending......the data just does not support your opinion, as usual....you used no REALEVANT FACTS, PERIOD!
Swamp Collie, which planet do you live on? Certainly, not earth! BTW, the financial crisis was under Bush43. You really are clueless.
With the Dow at 15,000 this perticular financial crisis that was revealed in 2007 has been over. The bigger one is around the corner.
Regan was beholden to the folks that put him in office and they were the defense contractors. He took care of them well too. No one complained at the time either because it made jobs during a recession. However, he ran on a platform that he was going to pay down the national debt. He raised taxes when he did away with the deductions albeit he slashed the marginal rate. All this got the economy growing again but it was driven by massive spending on defense. In many ways this was good, but it set precedence that defense spending was the way to encourage the economy, and the result has been large unpaid debts. Just like everyone before him, their intentions were not abuse after the crisis, as I would think were not his intentions. The presidents that follow these presidents usually get the shaft, because of pressure put on them not to spend and without the spending the economy falters. George H was a victim of that.
George W was beholden to the folks that put him in office and they were the oil companies. He took care of them too and since he had all of Reagan’s folks advising him they pushed him to war. So the result is massive debt. The guy that followed inherited a mess that had snow balled for decades.
Now Obama is beholden to the folks that put him in office and that is the working man and with that comes unions, minorities’ environmentalist. That is why healthcare for folks that can’t afford it, education opportunities for folks that can’t afford it, civil rights for minorities, and environmental regulation that preserve the planet that add cost to doing business. In other words what needs done but is opposed by business because it takes away from profit but needs help for the good of all mankind.
Like I said before, there will come a time when the pendulum moves to far to the left but it has not happened yet.
So emnmon, it's the working man that obama is looking out for! Are you freakin' kidding? That would be like saying it was the working man that got him elected!
