Default Going to bath running marks-Concerns?

I have a 23 months Chessie female. This female will go to the the bath number 1 or number 2 about 80% of the time running marks. This is my second female chessie and my first one had the same issue. I can run four marks in a row and she will stop and pee on all four about half the half back. Doesn't seem to matter if it's land or water.

I'm just at single T in my training program if that matters.

Airing her out doesn't seem to matter.

Should I just deal with it or break this habit with the E-collar.

    Thanks Shane

I have had dogs do this and IN MY OPINION that is their way of telling you that they are going to play the game on their own terms. I personally would give a little vocal here to encourage her to not stop on the way back and to try and get her to understand what you expect of her. Then a little later I would start giving a light nick with a whistle or here to discourage the behavior.

Here "nick" Here. You have to stop that BS right now or you're in serious trouble.

    Toot-toot nic.

It will regain focus on the task at hand, retrieving, and set up a command/response for any other distractions on the return.

Agreed. That dog needs to come to heal and be released before airing. Believe me they can hold it for 45 seconds and return to heal.

Going number 2 is one thing but going number 1 while working is a sign of disrespect to u and also showing little interest at the task at hand. This was also noted by the Mike Lardy. If he pees while running a mark or blind he needs to be nicked, a low intensity but to let him know this is unacceptable behavior.

I agree with giving correction in this case as all of the above posters suggested. This could become a big problem. I have seen a person that spanked a SH test that was dropped for peeing and some getting on the bird. Judge ruled that the bird was inedible and he failed the test. Just something to think about.

Before I would commence to corrections,,,,check her out for a urinary tract infection. Its not uncommon. It makes dogs want to pee a lot.

Thanks for the advice and quick responses. I'll get on it this week and see if she can change her delivery.
