On our way home from camping yesterday, we rolled our truck on I-90 near Ellensburg WA going about 70 mph. My sons and wife are fine only have a few bumps and bruises. I banged up my back a bit, but nothing more. The truck and trailer were destroyed.
Our two labs were in the bed of the truck secured in their crates. After checking out the family, I ran to try and find them. The crates were ejected, flew 20 yards from the truck, and totally destroyed, nothing but broken bits of plastic. I feared the worst and started looking for their bodies. I found our 5 mo lab puppy stuck under the upside down trailer. Somehow I managed to get her free and she appeared to be OK, just a bit freaked out. Some people that stopped immediately took her to a nearby emergency vet just to be sure she was OK. Our 4 y/o lab bolted from the scene and witnesses reported him running along the freeway about a 1/2 mile away and then he ran into the woods. The police and medics refused to let me start looking and drug me off "screaming and kicking" to the hospital to get looked at. The nurses at the hospital posted to Facebook on a local pet rescue page reporting my missing dog. Incredibly he was found in less than two hours. He only has a slight cut on his foot.
This was truly a miracle for my entire family. My life will never be the same, and I thank the lord for blessing us with a second chance at life.
