Thread: Winger Setup Questions?

  1. #1

    Default Winger Setup Questions?

A have a few questions about using/setting up wingers:

    1) Is it necessary to attempt to hide the winger, either with natural cover or a blind?
    2) When setting up or reloading is it necessary to not let your dog see you do this, or is it ok to let them watch? (For Example: Have the dog sitting at the line as you walk out and reload)
    3) Any tricks or tips to make setting up easier or quicker?

Thanks in advance for any responses.

    Usually not.

That depends on what you are intending to "get" out of the training session. The important thing is that you have a plan, and set up with that plan in mind.

The best tip I can think of, is to cut the zip ties and remove two of the rings from the end of two of the rubbers. Then, reattach those "empty" rubbers to the same rings already occupied by a rubber.

That way, the two rubbers make a V off of the same ring on each side of the winger. Like this.

To attach your electronics, rather than wasting time with clips and velcro that will break and fail, just get some loop bungees from the trailer section of Farm&Fleet or Tractor Supply.
