the bigger question does this color make them hypoallegenic? If so then Dr Ed we need to get a patent and trademark.

Definitely would put an end to the black dog, yellow dog argument.

There was a litter of these born in North Texas last year and posted on FB, I had never heard of them before so I assumed there was some serious fence jumping going on, that and the fact they were CKC (Not Canadian) registered.

Well, a client also visited them after the litter was whelped and took pictures in person, I am not an FB kinda guy. I will see if I can get pictures, but like I said it was last year.

If there is an entire litter, those are mismarked pups, which is a genetic color anomaly.

Thanks for posting the pics. Those puppies are cool looking, but they also look like merles rather than mosaics. Are there any pictures of them grown up? I'd bet money the lighter color is not yellow, but blue-gray in the "black" ones and light red-brown in the "chocolate" ones. A DNA profile would likely show that the intended sire is not the sire of the mismarked puppies.

The gene for merling is dominant so one of the parents was almost certainly a merle. It's a common pattern in Great Danes, Australian shepherds, and Shetland sheepdogs.

I was wondering what they looked like now as well, would be interesting to see. To me, it looks like you could dock their tails and pass them off as red heelers pretty easily.
