    Default panacur question

Asking for a friend with an 11 week old puppy...
does Panacur need to be given with food? I found online that it "might be more effective" if given with food, but I couldn't find anything about the incidence of nausea or vomiting when given with food versus without.
    Thanks in advance.

It is recommended to be given with food. I believe it causes GI upset if given alone.

We were taught to give it with food... I believe because it binds to fat and is better absorbed that way. I'd have to review my pharm notes though, and I've personally always given it with food.

Does it come in other forms than the powder? I always get the powder, and cant imagine giving it w/o food. I mix it with a little canned in their kibble or they wont eat it.

Thanks for the replies. Apparently she is giving the pup a liquid form, but she will mix it in the food based on the replies here!
