He's going to be big. Keep him on the thin side.

PS - Just changed avatars. The dog in the photo is a bitch whose trial running weight is 80-82 lbs. Tall, long legs, substantial bone, and kept as lean as we can keep her. Active training and food monitoring is necessary to keep her at 80 lbs.

Hes probably going to be a big boy. I have a Black male that weighed in at 57 two days ago and he just turned 5 months 4 days ago. His dad was 110 and his mom was about 75. Vet says they are about half their full size at 4 months. I will warn you though, be careful with these big boned labs, they need ample time to grow into their shape because my little guy is having a time.

Yours is probably going to be 90 lbs I would guess. Keep him thin, very thin.

My 5 1/2 month old male weighs 51 lbs and according to the growth chart and his weight at 4 months, he's right on track to top out at 70lbs. Sire was 70, dam was 80. Doesn't seem like 54 is abnormally large at 5 1/2 months based on these theories on adult weight. Just curious, how much are you guys feeding at this age?

I wont have any problems keeping him thin... he isnt a very big eater and its tough to keep any food in him he is obviously getting the nutrition he needs with how much he is growing

Uh oh, I just entered birthdate (April 20) and weight on July 8 (26 lbs.) At 26 lbs. she was tall, long legs, and lean. Our puppy is going to be 87.7 lbs. per this chart. I am not surprised. Grandma and Momma are big girls, but we won't be letting this puppy get to 87.7 lbs.! She'll be trained ragged and starved to keep her at 82 lbs. max. when she is an adult.

    Don's girls:
FC AFC Flyway's Ruby B. Gonia - a Carbon daughter and now a grandma (my avatar)
AFC Flyway's Long Tall Sally - Ruby's daughter
Flyway's Iron Lady (Maggie) - Ruby's granddaughter. Maggie's the new puppy in the house.

My dog Blake is getting 1.5 cups of adult food twice a day. Once in the morning and once in the evening.
