    54 Pounds at 5 1/2 months doesn't seem that big if you have a leggy dog. I thought for sure Boomer would be a big like when he weighed 60 at 6 months but he's 80lb on a good day. I keep him thin but he would look like a table with legs if I let him get to 90

    He was tiny...runt of the litter, had "special treatment" to get him to eat. I've seen others that small from other litters and other breeders as well. His dam is a whopping 45 lbs and was in the 10-15 lbs range at the same age.

    I usually take the weight at 4mos and double that. Most of mine have ended up w/in 5# of that as adults.
