Default Positive trainers - Tenderfoot training

Now I am not a Positive only trainer but I am always looking at ways to improve my training skills, finding new ways to train a dog with lower pressure I believe is one of my obligations to dogs.

Has anyone seen the Tenderfoot training method and if you have how is it beneficial to retriever training?

I haven't seen it or heard of it. Will have to Google it.

Did order and watch the Keith Mathews DVD set from Ireland and really loved it. He uses similar drills and similar progression of skills that Lardy uses, but with a little twist. Plus he really hones in on building blind retrieve work in many different terrains and water to stock pile lots of different "pictures" into the dog's mind. He is a non compulsion trainer, but also not a cookie or marker trainer. He is good at building the skills in the dog, so when they are tested they generally pass. It was filmed over a period of 3 yrs to follow the progress of the dogs. One of the dogs who started as a 6 week old pup in the videos achieved his FTCH at age 3. Two more of the pups are within a few points of getting their FTCH titles. Different sport, but the training is similar.

I haven't seen the dvd's ,but from the information on the amazon review selling it,and the contents list I'm sure you can get from your local community hall with all the other pet dogs.
