Thread: Hunt test question

    No training the day before the test. A few "happy bumpers" at the motel are the extent of my training.

    Both of my dogs will get long singles the day before to build confidence. One will get two blinds and the other will get four. The younger ones needs work every day before a test to keep him cooperative on blinds.

    I am running a test tomorrow that is close by so there is no travel today. I plan to do 3 things tonight.

    Start with some simple walkups,
    Touch base with some simple handling drills,
    Finish with some water pattern blinds.

    We will keep everything very simple for confidence so there should be no corrections needed and lots of praise. At the end of the training there will be plenty of time to run and swim which may take a little bit of the edge off of him for the morning. I don't know if this is the correct thing to do, but I have done similar things in the past and had some decent results with it.
