Default Dog ate the pumpkin pie -Happy Thanksgiving

My 19 month old chocolate Labrador female got out of her crate while I ran to the store to pick up a few last minute things for Thanksgiving. She ate most of our pumpkin pie. Her favorite part was the crust. She was such a good clean girl, didn't get any on the floor. She just jumped up on the counter and ate it . She knew I had been cleaning all day and had just washed the floors. Vet tech told me she should be fine, a little constipated (I was worried it was going to be lose). No need to feed her dinner tonight. I'm also very thankful that she didn't eat any of my son's medication that was sitting on the kitchen table.

Life is good. Happy Thanksgiving. I'm very thankful already.

LOL! My Indy who has never counter surfed in his life, just lost it over home made whole wheat bread. I swear, he has ignored roasts of beef, chickens, turkeys, gravy, etc. and was utterly trustworthy. We made a loaf of bread tonight, and Indy went bananas. I wrapped it up and left it, next thing I knew he was on the counter digging for it. Now I know how to get him to do anything I want!

We went out for a walk one time and when we got back found that our cat had eaten about a quarter of our pumpkin pie which had been left on the counter to cool.

When my now wife and I were first dating she made me an apple pie, i forget what I was doing but I realized it was much too quiet at the time, so, I go into the kitchen and there is old Jet up to his
ears in the pie.... I had to call the GF and request another pie... given the circumstances she caved and made "us" another pie... Happy Thanksgiving, Jim

Yesterday I came home from shopping and left the groceries in the kitchen while I took a few things out to the motor home. I wasn't gone five minutes but when I returned I found two very guilty looking dogs and half a loaf of warm french bread lying in the middle of the living room carpet. In my gut I know it was the terrier who started it. IMHO there's not a retriever alive that is as devious, stubborn or brazen as the meekest terrier!

Lost a bunch of fried chicken one time to our cocker spaniel when we all went outside to look at something. Came back in and Taz was standing on the table enjoying herself and waggin her tail.

Golden ate 3 pumpkin pies once, hot out of the oven. He did not get constipated. Let's just say we threw away the rug.

I've been told that pumpkin "makes firm things soft and soft things firm" so don't count on the constipation.

We made it through with only a little vomit, she did decide to go outside. She is such a good little dog. I'm really happy she didn't cost us a lot of money at this time of year.
