Chad, The ponds you designed look awesome! Not sure if you would remember me, but I worked up at the Nat Am in Onaway and threw the long retired in the 10th. I own one of the pre-national training properties that you may have been on. No water though. US Fish and Wildlife is planning to build a dike and spillway to flood an area about 5-6 acres. I can dig the rest deeper and include points, islands etc. at my own expense. I'm in the process of clearing trees and brush from the low area now, but am not sure where to go from there. We surveyed to see where the max water level will be, to the best of our ability, with all the trees, but I could use some ideas on how to approach it to get the nicest pond possible. If you shoot me an e-mail address, I can send some pics. Would like your opinion if you have the time.

Thanks and Congrats again on Trav's National win. It was pretty cool to witness it from out in the field!

Yes he's on my short list for sure the other person is Mark Madore. He's done alot of the "basics" on the Carbon line including Emmitt. My breeder has her young dog with him now and has trained with him and is very impressed. You have any knowledge of Mark?
  4. Jim Van Engen at Right start kennels. He has done the basics on like 10 national champions. Very honest on dog evaulation and has a program that is second to none. Everyone can tell you so and so is the best I have seen with my own eyes the last 8 yrs what he puts out is very succesful in the FT world. No one elses record even comes close. Other trainers may have several dogs that run well but Jims whole truck runs well when he is finished. Expect for the pup to be there 15-18 mnths and you will have a dog that can probably win a Q before its 25 mnths old.Jim doesn't run many trials but when he does lots of times he will take all the derby placements and usually win or place several of his youngsters in the Q. The man works very hard and has a very solid basics program. Goodluck with your pup.

Hi Chad, just curious who does the young/basics training for your dogs. I've got a young dog (4 mos) out EmmittXJade (sired by Patton). If you care to share any info I'd appreciate it.

    Thanks, Doug
