My blm who is 9 has a 1.5 -2cm mass on his bladder and his prostrate is 3x’s the size dr reccomended a consultation with a surgeon to get neutered have mass checked he is very strong and energetic he has been spotting around the house from his penis the last 3 wks dr feels could be cancer, didnt see this coming has he just hunted strong last sat, if anyone can offer some insight it would be greatly appreciated thank you

See the surgeon, good luck. Sorry to hear about the issue. Getting him neutered will help with the prostate, and will be still be the same dog. Pretty small mass, could be removed and still have good bladder function, DEPENDING on where it is on the bladder.

My 11-yr old male started straining when he pooed. Figured it was an enlarged prostate. Ultrasound to confirm and they found a mass on his bladder at the same time. At first I was told it was inoperable. Then my doc wanted me to see the oncologist at the teaching hospital. They wanted to neuter him, remove the bladder mass and start chemo. Told me it might increase his life by 6 mo.
I couldn’t carve him up and have him spend his last days recovering from abdominal surgery. We put him on medication to reduce his prostate and meloxicam for inflammation/pain. A few weeks later he started coughing—lungs full of tumors. We let him go.
Sorry for the story with the bad outcome but I thought you would want to know.

I appreciate that, and is why I posted it wanted to know possible out comes going to see a surgeon next Friday I will not let my boy suffer that for sure !!! Thank u enjoy every second with these wonderful animals
