Last Newman and Bennetts I bought had no valves within a week, the halves were misaligned when molded and the things were as hard as bricks. I'll never own another. Went to DT systems soft mouth trainers. Excellent quality, no valves to pop out, and they stay soft down to 32 degrees.

They are not cheap, but how often do you buy bumpers? These will likely be the last I have to buy.

Spend the money and go with the above mentioned DT softmouths. Well worth the price.
