    Default Airlines for flying dogs.

I am to hunt in ND this fall, live in MD. I possibly want to fly instead of the 27 hour drive. Could someone give me there experience good and bad for what airlines to consider to fly dogs? What the cost is? And just plain what to expect. Thanks so much.

Alaska Airlines and their Pet Priority Program is the best.
Delta has been fine but not as much experience with them.

I second Alaska Airlines. I have never had any issues using them. They have flights out of Washington Dulles and Washington Reagan, but nothing to ND. Might have to find somewhere close and rent a car to get where you need to be. They do fly into several cities in Montana.

Mine flew on Frontier from DEN to SFO 2 years ago. Planning on getting one for my daughter around Feb 2016. I think we will both fly to DEN and come back with the pup in the cabin. Not sure which airline we will use for that.

I hesitated for years. Finally pulled the trigger after many recommendations with Delta. Wish I would've done it many years ago. Delta was awesome! Wast cheap though.....$200 each way for my buddy, on top of my plane ticket.

We used Delta Pet First 3 years ago for a puppy and they were great.

But I won't be able to fly with the puppy so it is more than less shipping her from Michigan to fairbanks

Way more to ship alone than with a paying person flying with the dog. AK air is $100 each way when you fly with the dog and about triple when you ship. Shipping also carries more restrictions.

Another vote for Alaska Air - did great with 3 dogs last year from Reagan to Anchorage. And now they fly out of BWI.
