Crazy Trump isn't a true capitalist, he's allowed the government to bail him out time and time again. The Country needs someone who believes in a free market, that doesn't think of the government as a safety net.
Why is it so hard to accept that Cruz ... unlike Trump ... took the time to build his case until his facts were irrefutable?
Cruz was not naive or dumb enough to know that there are Senators who are outright liars, but if he was going to trample on a couple of centuries of Senate decorum, he had to have the ducks in a row. When McConnell, himself, put up the amendment to revive the Ex-Im Bank, that was the final nail in the coffin. 53 other Senators knew what McConnell had said. He had 53 eyewitnesses to the truth of his statements.
He's been beaten up for 6-1/2 years by the establishment for his brazenness, and he took all the punches they threw.
Who among us disagrees with the facts of Trump's allegations about illegal immigration? Facts like: it's costing our taxpayers a lot of $ to provide services for illegals; that we have no idea who is getting through the porous borders; that it's high time we did something about it, not just talk about it. He's a showman, for sure, and might not be the person to implement remedies ... but he's now opened the discussion for the other candidates as well. And he has demonstrated that millions of voters know first-hand that it's costing us greatly.
Trump opened a door ... voters are ready to hear the truth from a candidate. Neither Dems or Reps, neither liberals or conservatives, are without their representative liars. The voters are fed up with lies. I am. Aren't you?
Whether you like Cruz or not, this took courage to call out McConnell and everything he stands for.
I'm still wondering how McConnell convinced Rand Paul to support him in the primary in 2014. Did Paul fall for some lie as well? I've always had respect for Rand Paul. I find it hard to believe he would sell out for something venal. I'm more inclined to believe he was lied to by McConnell, but did not have the "proof" to call out McConnell. I hope I'm right on that.

Maybe that's true but who is closer to a Capitalist than him? Sanders? Hillary? I doubt it.
Did Trump violate any laws to do so or was he playing within the market rules that exist? He wouldn't be a very smart businessman if he didn't take advantage of all the benefits that exist even if he didn't like them. His competition sure would take advantage of them.

I believe there are plenty of smart businessman who maintain their ethics. I also know there are many unethical but legal behaviors, look no further than the Seattle thread, or perhaps the bonuses the Hostess execs stuck in their pocket while going belly up. You are correct, Trump is closer to a Capitalist than Sanders, but then isn't everyone?

McConnell got his Senate Ex-Im vote today (Sunday) tied to the Highway and Infrastructure bill as an amendment. The vote 67-26. Roll Call has NOT announced the specific vote yet. Cruz tried to add another amendment to the highway bill which was to recognize Israel as a "Jewish State" . It failed. Nobody defended Cruz in the Senate today but bunch attacked. Interesting that the Koch brothers are huge anti Ex-Im bank people. Crony capitalism and etc. Now it goes on to the House. Many see this as a conservative Republican battle versus "moderate" Republicans(?) -the Dems want the Ex-IM as does Obama.
If you are looking for ethical prudence in politicians you are going to be looking a long time. He may have, in some people's opinion, unethical business dealings for his personal businesses. The rest are mostly all career politicians and can be linked to multiple unethical dealings as politicians on the taxpayer's dime. What is worse? You seem to be comparing Trump to the perfect candidate when he should be compared to what we have now from both parties. Personally I'm not in his camp just yet, he's changed positions on a lot of issues over the last 10 years and I haven't seen his reasoning for those changes yet.
Republican Revolution?
[QUOTE]POLITICO – Rep. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) has filed a motion to try to force Speaker John Boehner from his leadership post. The move, called a motion to vacate the chair, represents a new level of opposition to GOP leadership from the conservative wing of the House Republican Conference. The motion can be postponed for several days before consideration.
The resolution was filed late Tuesday afternoon, just one day before the House was slated to depart for its summer recess.
The resolution states that Boehner has tried to “consolidate power and centralize decision-making, bypassing the majority of the 435 members of Congress and the people they represent.” It accuses the speaker of using the “legislative calendar to create crises for the American people, in order to compel members to vote for legislation.”
The resolution also blasts Boehner of using the Rules Committee to limit amendments.
The “Speaker has, through inaction, caused the power of Congress to atrophy, thereby making Congress subservient to the Executive and Judicial branches, diminishing the voice of the American People,” it reads. “Whereas the Speaker uses the power of the office to punish Members who vote according to their conscience instead of the will of the Speaker.”

Instead, Republican leadership aides said, the Meadows measure will be referred to the House Rules Committee, which functions as an arm of the leadership and is thus unlikely to even take it up.
House leaders were meeting late Tuesday to decide what to do about the resolution. While they could easily ignore it without breaking any rules, letting the matter fester over the upcoming August recess could build further opposition to Boehner among conservatives when they go home to talk to constituents.
Not much chance they'll get this to a vote ... and Dems would probably all show their support for Boehner, along with the R establishment. At least they're standing up to be counted ... and will make the others show their true colors as well.
