Default Thought you would want to know.....

I just received news that my former wife ...Sarita....passed away from breast cancer and pneumonia. The chemo and radiation wore her down which allowed the pneumonia to set in. Part of my reason for sharing her passing with you is about the cancer. Sarita had a bilateral mastectomy around Dec 2002 a little over a year after she donated her kidney to me. She had cancer in one breast and decided on having the other breast removed to lessen the chance of the cancer coming back. She had regular check ups all of which were good. The cancer showed up again this last Sept......13 years after her bi- lateral mastectomy. She did not suffer long believing she'd beat the cancer once again.

Sarita won the first open she ever ran! Because she wasn't able to have children she took great joy in whelping all the Moonstone litters.....the puppies were her kids. She really enjoyed hearing from owners and learning about the puppies well being and progress. Her love for her dogs was so deep it is almost impossible to describe.

Sarita was a recovering alcoholic. ......sober for over thirty years! She had a chocolate lab named Zeb during the last year's of her drinking. She often told me it was Zeb that saved her life. He lived long enough to enjoy her sobriety with her. There's was a true love.

I am greatfull for all that she did for me and Moonstonelabs.

So sorry. I lost my beloved mother in law to cancer that followed a similar progression. 15 years after double mastectomy. So hard to see her believing she had it licked, then the devastating news. RIP Sarita.

Bill, I am so sorry to hear that Sarita has lost her struggle with cancer. She was always very kind and helpful to me, and I was honored to own two Moonstone Labradors.

Sorry to hear this Bill. We enjoyed meeting her when we picked up Phillie almost 4 years ago. Cancer is a terrible thing.

I am sorry to hear of Sarita's passing. On the couple of occasions that I had spoken with her, I found her to be a very helpful and friendly person. My condolences to her family and friends.

Oh Bill, our hearts are broken. Sarita was very special we thought the world of her. We are so sorry to hear that she is gone. Bear was one of Saritas kids and I loved hearing all the stories about his mom Libby. After Sarita won the open she sent us a letter describing the whole trial . We were so proud of her and Libby . It was an honor to own one of her puppies. You are in our prayers

Mr McKnight, I was saddened to see this post this evening about Sarita's passing....for some reason my brother Clint had given her a couple of University Of Kentucky hats over the years (that his mother in law gave him)..well anyone that knows Clint knows he is a Texas A&M Aggie to the bitter end and will wear a maroon hat most of the time..I wasn't quite sure if Sarita was a Kentucky fan or former resident or alumnus ? but he will be saddened when I break the news to him in the morning..so sorry for you loss..I always enjoyed her posts here on the RTF
