Its cookie based, so as long as your browser accepts cookies it will stay. Depending on the browser you are using you can also force it in the browser preferences to show only desktop view.

We tried to get back the mobile view you had before from forum runner. Unfortunately forum runner is no longer supported by the company that bought it a few years back. This was the quickest solution to getting a mobile option up on the site. I don't see this as any sort of major change to how the site functions, your rules and how the site functions are still the same.

    Philip,

The phone version does not give you an option for timing out the sign in period, correct? This is basically for tracking and ad purposes which requires manually signing out each time. Thanks

Since 1998, the various iterations of RTF have been a big part of my life and many of yours. Today marks the change in yet another move of the RTF forums to new servers and a new network.

The difference today is that while I may remain as “janitor”, it will no longer mean that I'm the owner of this resource. RTF is now owned by VerticalScope. VerticalScope manages a number of specialised online communities, including many Outdoor, Hunting, Fishing and Pet forums. They are now accepting RTF under their network and will primarily be managing the day to day technical issues of the site. Aside from some new admin accounts you will see logged in, there is little that will change about RTF.

How does this affect you? Well, it really doesn’t. The goal is to keep the culture, the feel, and the community intact. You can log in as you always have and continue to use the resource just as you’ve done over the years. This really is best for the resource.

    Guess I misunderstood, my apologies.

Here's something I recite to myself pretty often these days:

"God grand me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and Wisdom to know the difference."

Enjoy your pup. Enjoy what benefit this resource can bring.

To me, it appears that as long as one logs in, (as opposed to viewing the forum not logged in) and if one comes in on mobile and exits the mobile view, "little" has changed.

Your opinion or experience may vary. And that's OK.

I can not change what VerticalScope does tomorrow, or even today. I do know that they are a much bigger company than my janitor shop was. I would expect that employees of Verticalscope will behave the way employees of large companies do.

In my announcement thread, I addressed change more than once. There is change. There will continue to be change. The one thing that is guaranteed as time advances is change.

To me, right now, little has changed about RTF. Tomorrow that may be different.

You mean its not keeping you logged in? It should give you the option to be remembered or not.

I am also happy listen to input from you all. If you have suggestions I would like to hear them.

Fixed. The new mobile page was keeping me logged in.

    Thanks,
