Please welcome Renee P. as one of RTF's Moderators.

She'll be learning the ins and outs of moderation so please be kind.

Help make our work a little easier by remembering to following the guidelines set up in each classified forum, as well as including your State abbreviation as the first part of the title of your ad. This allows RTF members to do a search by State.

If you see a thread or post that you feel may be inappropriate (spam, personal attack, inappropriate forum, etc), please contact us either by reporting the post using the icon on the left side of the post or via Private Message.

Please keep in mind that ADMIN and Moderators are not paid positions and all posts/threads are not entirely read. Your help in reporting issues to be helpful is appreciated. Issues will be taken care of as soon as possible as we are not on RTF 24/7 and have jobs/responsibilities in real life.

Thank you, Vicky, for the introduction.

I joined the RTF about 6 years ago while I was shopping for a new puppy. I chose the user name "Mitty," as in Mitty Kitty, who was purring next to me when I joined; I never dreamed that I would post anything.

I got my puppy, and I set out to train her by following "Training a Retriever Puppy" and "The Fetch Command" with Bill Hillmann and then "Total Retriever Training with Mike Lardy." I had never trained a gun dog before, and at the time I did not know anyone locally who could help me. But I was able to stumble along by asking questions and getting answers on the RTF.

Thank you, Chris Atkinson, for creating the RTF and for putting up with me over the years, and to Vicky (the new Administrator) and FOM for also donating their time to help keep the forum going. I feel fortunate to be in a position to help out as I owe this forum a lot: I now have a well trained dog and lots of new friends, including some fantastic training partners.

Here's hoping that I can pay it forward!

Hi Renee! This is great news.

Chris Atkinson is just a guy who happened to be in a certain place at a certain time. RTF just kind of fell together. I'm glad it is chugging on.

I want, at this time, to not only thank Renee for her agreement to help Vicky. I want to hugely thank Vicky also! Without Vicky Trainor, this site would have not been anywhere near where it's been and is today.

Also thanks to past folks who played moderator or admin roles: Shayne Mehringer, Lainee Munhollon, Chris Kingrea, Lee Salmon, Steve Dannaway.

    Sincerely, Chris
