Default Delta Airlines carry on puppy

Has anyone brought a puppy home since October 1st in the cabin on Delta? Are they really only accepting a puppy who is over 10 weeks? I shipped one on Sept 30th at 8 weeks with the pet service. It seems strange that it is 10 weeks when you are taking the puppy as a carry on. Please just answer if you have actually flown with a puppy recently. I have read the rules online.

I believe Delta changed shipping to 10 weeks across the board, carry on and Cargo or Dash. United is still 8 weeks, as of a few weeks ago.

As the resident lawyer, I would encourage you to have the pup lie about its age as long as they don't put her under oath...

Shipped three, eight (8) week old puppies on Delta Cargo this past Saturday. Airline regulations can be a bit confusing on a good day. I always research the carriers website specific to the method of shipment and then confirm with an agent. No problems in the past 13 years.

I agree, no health certificate needed and pup is 10 weeks.

As a resident airline employee I agree. No one is going to ask the age of a carry on puppy. The crew might ask on board but only because they like puppies. Cargo is a different story given the necessary paperwork. I seriously doubt there would be any issue whatsoever. I mean I had a freaking service pig on board the other day despite the rules saying no hooved animals.

Thanks for your reply. It's a stupid rule since cargo is 8 weeks

Guess what, it just happened in Minneapolis. My clients were blacklisted and Delta said they were enforcing the 10 weeks for a carry on. Client did not think fast enough to lie. Possibly his son called and he got through with the puppy. I am waiting to find out. I think he just got the wrong person asking but caution your buyers to lie. Since no health papers are required they can't prove it and don't say you have the registration.

They are at the gate. They have a special services person in Minneapolis to check in the carry on pets. In Milwaukee they just checked in at the regular check in desk.
