Exclamation Bruce and Colleen Kincard - Fire destroys home

A Go Fund Me page has been set up to help the Kincaids as they try to piece their lives back together after a devastating fire this morning.

Vicky - was their home insured, I hope? Our home burned to the ground 3 years ago and we got out with our dogs, and no clothes on our backs. I was in boxers, a knee brace and on crutches. It was devastating and challenging for sure and there are still things 3 years later that I realize we lost, but in the end, we were ok.

I am a life long insurance goober and I think that helped tremendously in dealing with the carrier, though they were excellent. If I can be of any assistance to them in offering assistance in dealing with their insurer please get them in touch with me.

Its a tough recovery even with insurance. I lost a home and dogs to a fire. In the end you find out what your made of and grow stronger still. I'm very sorry they are in this lesson of life. Thank you for the link.

I'm not sure what is worse. The stress of being upended and displaced for a year or more, or the trauma of being thrown into the insurance industry claim game. It's brutal, and nothing that I would wish upon anyone.
