Default Best and safest yard spray for ticks

We arrived to Theodosia MO yesterday (permanent residence after living in AK for many years) and I have found several ticks on myself and the dogs (both treated with prescription meds).... I would really like to spray the yard.

    Any suggestions?

Tempo - it's a concentrate, mix it in a sprayer. Buy at your coop or feed store. It's also very good for spiders and like critters and it can be used in the house, under sinks, etc..

Thanks all! I ordered adams from chewy yesterday... pulled 5 ticks off each of the dogs yesterday and about the same on me. Do the ticks die from the advantix? Even though they still bite? Why have they not come with an equivalent solution for himans? LOL..
    Also ordered two soresto collars...

Chickens are definitely on the agenda! Just 2 or 3. And a chicken tractor. LOL (too many vermin around here not to have them contained)

Oppossum might be more fun than I could handle

It sounds like you have it all covered. The pyretherins are often a good choice. They are highly toxic but, break down quickly in sunlight so there is very little to no toxic residue left. You can find some 'organic' insecticides that contain pyrethrins since they were originally extracted from chrysanthemum flowers. If a product is not toxic to the targeted pest it will not be effective.

Best solution for you, is to get some of the Permrithin stuff you soak your clothes in. Soak them and then let them dry. Do NOT get the stuff on your skin, wear gloves. Once dried it is safe to wear, will repel most bugs and will stay in for about 6 washings.

You can also get some sulfur powder and sprinkle is at the top of your boots, and belt line. Ticks seems to like areas like that. Be careful about spraying "OFF" on your boots, it can ruin the Goretex membrane.
