Default Training with Red-Tailed Hawk flying overhead?

I was out with my lab, 'Clon', the other day. I was working him with Dokkens mallards. A hawk flew low over head us, once almost out of sight over the trees, wheeled back around and started circling directly overhead. It was a magnificent looking creature. I assume it was the mallard dummies he was after! I don't know for sure it was a red-tailed hawk, I just think they are very common around here. Anyone have any experience with this?

A hawk once trailed my boy on a long blind retrieve. He sized up the situation and figured, I guess, he was no match for a full grown lab. About half way back he turned off and disappeared.

Had a bald eagle swoop down and snatch a fish right next to the dog swimming in the pond! That startled all of us.

Couple of falls ago, I saw a dog at (I believe) the N.Texas trial heading for the long retired mark. About 30 - 40 yds away from it, a very large hawk (maybe Mexican eagle?) launches a vertical ascent from the ground, and drops the hen pheasant from about 15ft in the air. I didn't hear that anyone had seen the bird fly down into the test, but he sure as heck had hen on his lunch menu.

I was running my dog at a hunt test when a Red Tail hawk dove after a duck that was launched from a winger. The hawk was close enough to the duck that my dog watched the hawk fly on. I was not sure my dog mark the fall but I sent him and he found the marks and passed the test.
