    Default AKC Litter Registration

I have not bred a dog in a number of years and was surprised when I read the following on another web site. Is this a new requirement?

The AKC does require a breeding Dam to have a OFA ( Orthopedic Foundation of Animals in Columbia, MO) on the hips, elbows, and eye's on the AKC registration form to register the litter for resale.

Not true. AKC doesn't require any clearances to register a litter or dog.

Right. That would be for the betterment of the breed and might dent their revenues received. Priorities??? 😩

    Thanks for the responses.
I was pretty sure of the answer but needed confirmation from the folks that really know.

    Merry Christmas to all.

We register them as puppies. OFA can't be official until they are 2.

Several web sites require those listings BEFORE you can use them to advertise a litter for sale.
