As I recall the last NFC that was not titled was a few years before Trav when Doctor Cooper and Wayne Dotson won in St Louis

That is a great memory for me. The caravan at the November 2006 NRC for the tenth series had chassis mount after chassis mount, rolling down the road to the parking area. There was one vehicle in that caravan that stood out. It was a Ford Ranger with a dog sticking her head out the passenger window, wagging her tail and sniffing the air.

A few hours later that same dog was at the hotel restaurant party jumping up and grabbing chicken wings out of Wayne's hand, and Wayne had a very big smile on his face. Copper had won the NRC.

My son was under four years old at the time. He ran all around with a digital camera getting photos. I have fond memories and just found this via the "Advanced Search" sticky. Here are some photos with NFC Copper and Wayne.

Try Again! Dr. Cropper had both her FC and AFC titles before she won!

If the dog had a win, that's enough points for AFC right?

Nope...10 Open points for an FC....15 All Age points (Open or Amateur points for AFC)

there are other variations such as winning the National Open with an Amateur handler also secures the dog its AFC or attaining 10 Open points with an Amateur handler also gets the dog its AFC..a win is also needed to get a dog its FC or AFC
