Hosting a Grand puts a tremendous amount of stress on a club. Anyone that says different is not being truthful. It can stress a strong club and break a weaker one. The Grand will continue but the current size demands large, well maintained grounds. As it continues to grow, there will be fewer and fewer suitable sites.

It’s a huge time and money commitment for the workers. I used a weeks vacation and it cost me around $1,500 for hotel, gas, lunches, dinners etc. to volunteer.

You do it to give back to the sport At least that’s why I did it.

You’re absolutely right about that. It’s a huge commitment of time and money. You’re also right about doing it to give back to the sport.

Sites are chosen, 2 porta-crappers per site are set, the running lines are set, judges will see their sites tomorrow around noon time to decide on marks and a blind and/or a diversion mark or and honor. Site's look great.

I spent 4 hours on the DR mower grooming a few sites this morning..........................can't do much more until the judges arrive.

Thanks Tina!!! We met briefly last Fall in Louisiana at the Banded site at your Grand. You prolly will not remember me; as I look like most Yanks!!!!!

Thanks. I'm sure it'll work out well for us, it usually does. We've got a great base of active members in WISILL HRC.

The sites are finished and finalized; just a couple little things to do tomorrow morning, then it's "SHOW TIME!!!" I chose not to run in OUR Grand, because I find it "too stressful" to work at a test or test site and worry about running a dog. That said; I am running my 500pt. dog as test dog at "Gunners Up" Land site tomorrow. So I am running, but I don't need to worry about time or place etc. I'm test dog tomorrow at the site I'm working all week. After the 1st day, there are a lot of test dogs to choose from!!!!

From descriptions and scuttlebutt from other sites; handlers better have their "big boy" pants on!!!!!
