20 years ago China had 8 companies on the list, today they have 119.
The US has 121. Though the 119 are mostly on the lower end they have
the momentum. Trump needs to win the Trade War.

“You slap a 25, 35-percent tariff on our leading trading partners like Mexico and China — we may not like them, sir, but tariffs and protectionism is not the answer. It will do incalculable damage to the American economy. Okay. We will cut off our nose to spite our face. And that is not the right policy. This will backfire on America. And the rest of the world.”-Obama
Odd that people whine about what tariffs could do, and rarely look at what tariffs have done. Maybe we should demand zero tariffs on all goods both ways with major trading partners and let the chips fall where they lay. Rather than tariffs, we should be demanding things we import be manufactured with the same standards for the environment and labor that we have here, with major penalties for IP theft. Its funny that so many companies complain about IP theft, when that is just one of the things given up to China for access to their labor and markets, it's not really theft when you just give it to them....
Good points.
The crux of the matter is that U S companies are short sighted, as they focus on profits in the short term.
Management gets rewarded for with salary increases in large bonuses for Rising stock prices and profits in the short term; with little regard for the long-term goals.
This explains why our companies have been whining about the Chinese stealing our intellectual property and Trade Secrets but they will not file complaints with the WTO for fear of being locked out of the huge lucrative Chinese market.
That explains why I applaud President Trump's attempts to step in and attempt to address this problem that the companies will not.
However his efforts are so laughable that he's doing more harm than good.
Further proof that the so-called stable genius is in reality an idiot.
Not at all surprising considering his life history of the Midas touch in reverse.
If you look at his history this is not at all surprising
Seemingly everytime he touches things that are golden he turns them to shitt.
Whereas the Chinese (private companies and government) focus on the long game.
Notice how yesterday morning having watched the market drop in early trading by 450 points, Trump decided to postpone his recently announced tariffs in time for holiday shopping? It was an admission that American consumers are paying the price of tariffs and not the lie Trump has been telling. Market dropped 800 points yesterday on fears of a recession that could be set off by the trade war between the world's two largest economies. This is the Trump economy and not the growing one he inherited from his predecessor.
