    Default Building Permit

Our adult children want us close so we are in the process of chopping off
a small piece of land from our larger piece. We are going through the full
    process.

As the guy who did the wetlands assessment (none) said. 3rd generation
public employees are like 3rd generation welfare recipients, worthless.
What I am presently debating with myself is: Are these people smart enuf
to do this on purpose or are they really that incompetent?

An example: though the state by law differentiates between small development
& the large builders, we are expected to fill out the same form, pay similar costs,
& submit everything in multiples. & they want a $500 fee to explain their policy!

I am telling them that any policy that requires verbalization is a poorly constructed
policy & that expecting to be paid for that is adding insult to injury.

If I had to guess I would say they are incompetent. You should probably consult with an attorney

All states are different. WA has a Growth Management Act that is hard to disagree with, the bureaucracy's interpretation of same is the issue.
Unfortunately the bureaucracy are considered the experts by case Law. My son is a very good attorney & has been trying to get a remodel
permit for over a year with little success or end in sight.

Bureaucrats!! The worst of the worst. Give anyone power and it is likely to go to their head.

    Marvin,

I work with permitting authorities in 5 counties and 2 states. Some are more onerous than others to deal with. I spent a couple of days considering your issues even though, I am sure, I encounter nothing like Washington state/Seattle bureaucrats here in north Alabama/east Tennessee. Two possible solutions have come to me.

If you can't subdivide your own property or build on it and hope to move closer or have others move closer to you:

    1. Put a tarpaulin/tent on the closest right of way, or in the road if traffic can be controlled, and just....... move in. This seems an action that works universally and with little opposition out west. If anyone shows up to complain, just take a dump in the road in front of them to elicit their "compassions". They'll probably start a "Go Fund Marvin" campaign.

    2. Don't concern yourself with permitting and procede to construct something like this Chattanooga landmark......

Advise the authorities that you are "self identifying" as an illegal alien, " Prince Marvin from atokaD"(Dakota spelled backwards). No self respecting sanctuary city could oppose this, I think? (Check out the infamous prince mongo of memphis, worked for him for years)

Good luck being a white American!
