Hopefully the negotiation team for the US is smarter than MSM.
The Chi-Coms announce they are thinking of buying some farm products: Pork, alfalfa & soybeans.
WSJ had an article about the Chinese ownership of some irrigated UT alfalfa farms. SFD (largest
pork producer in the US) was bought lock stock & barrel a couple of years ago by the Chinese. The
Swine Flu in China has caused pork prices to rise 47% in the last year. Because of the rains in the
Midwest there is a good chance commodities will be in short supply.
if you're buying from yourself who benefits?
On a different note: with all the computer folks getting rich by offshoring they have created this issue.
Seems the folks doing the grunt work have also figured out how to do a lot of the design & the design
capabilities of Silicone Valley are now falling behind the Chi-Coms in area that make the US vulnerable.
You have to love the forward thinking of the intelligentsia!
