    Default Mackinac

I've never been a Mike Pence fanboy but believe in live & let live.

I do believe all should honor local tradition, what happened in Mackinac does not set well with me.
Seems the VPOTUS was supposed to give a speech to a bunch of big wigs @ a conference. Friday
night 8 large SUV's show up for the VPOTUS's motorcade, ON AN ISLAND THAT DOES NOT ALLOW
    MOTORIZED VEHICLES!

Apparently the sanctimonious one does not respect tradition. When POTUS Ford went there he & his
wife rode in a horse drawn carriage.

    Your thoughts?

I get that there is a security issue. At the same time, was it that important of a visit? I genuinely don't know.

I go to weddings/funerals in Catholic churches. It is offensive when I'm told that I can't take communion since I'm not a true Christian, but that's their tradition. I'm not going to an @$$ about it and make a scene or make my way up for communion. Sometimes you just have to accept what others find sacrosanct. IMO.

nogie, I think that was quite common among the many Christian Demonimations as recently as the 1950's. While I am Methodist which has allowed anyone, regardless of their denomination ar lack of, to take Communion, I thought the Catholic Church as well as most if not all Christian Churches that limited access to Communion, had changed that policy.

Who tells you you can't take communion? I take communion every week but have never been in a confessional.

The only person I can see denying you communion would be a family member who knows you. And even then it is none of their business.
