Jan 17, 2017 · Between 384 and 807 civilians were killed in those countries, according to reports logged by the Bureau. The use of drones aligned with Obama’s ambition to keep up the war against al Qaeda while extricating the US military from intractable, costly ground wars in the Middle East and Asia…

Under President Obama, the U.S. has pursued an extensive campaign of targeting terrorist leaders from al Qaeda, its affiliates, and ISIS. Since the start of President Obama’s first term in 2009, at least 45 of the top terrorist leaders have been killed or captured by U.S. forces.

The unfortunate thing about the lack of education on the subject of "Separation of Powers" is:

"many folks believe she has that right" .

Where do you think that area of the world (Iraq) would be today if Bush/Cheney hadn't made up the WMD line to take out Saddam? He did seem to have a thumb of control on the area.

Or do you think things would have evolved in the past x amount of years, to the point that he would have been run out of Iraq by his own peeps?

Do you really believe Bush and Cheney “made up” the WMD thing?

Does it matter? It got us into something that we can't seem to get out of now.

    Cheney, YES. Bush, NO

But either way, what would be your answer to the question?

I think it likely that the region would have remained somewhat stable for longer than it did. I think ISIS wouldn’t have developed to the level it did. I think Sadam would have continued stockpiling chemical weapons. I think Iraq would probably have become a player in Afghanistan to some degree. But I’m certainly no Middle Eastern policy expert and there’s no way to predict what other actions/events would have happened to affect Iraq between then and now.

You must not be old enough to remember the fiasco during the term of Jimmy Carter, over 400 days of US hostages and occupation of the our embasy in Iran. We have constantly had unintended consequences of our foreign policy in the Middle East and it has made no difference who or what party was in office.
